Professor David Norbury is an engineering geologist with over 40 years experience of investigating the ground, compiling ground models and communicating within the project team. These skills have been deployed in project investigations, tunnelling, groundworks and project management in projects across Europe, Africa and the Far East. His reputation is in the provision of sound and practical advice, and in keeping projects moving forwards.

David Norbury set up his own limited company in 2006 to provide his specialist expertise, gained over 32 years with Soil Mechanics and CL Associates, on the open market.

David has gained experience in major projects in a wide range of geological conditions and around the world. He has focussed much effort on the communication of investigation results to the design team, in practice on projects, through publication and through his input to the drafting of Standards. He has also provided major contributions into professional committee and board activities in the UK and Europe.

He has a proven commitment to passing on his experience to young geologists through mentoring, specific teaching out on site, in delivery of company courses and in lecturing to under and post-graduate classes.
